Inflammatory Bowel Disease or IBD includes a set of disorders in which the intestines get inflamed (red, swollen and have ulcers).There are many reasons behind this, such as genetic, environmental, infections etc., but the common factor is an abnormal immune reaction to normal intestinal bacteria. Most people tend to get confused between Inflammatory bowel disease & irritable bowel syndrome or IBS, but the two are very different.
